SKINCARE ROUTINE; What is it all about?

SKINCARE ROUTINE may sound like a big thing or something too expensive to run; but hey!

Basically, it includes removing Makeup, Cleaning your Face, Applying Spot treatment for any blemish, and putting on moisturizer (Cream).

It's Something we do every day right? But how Consistent are you in the Practice?

You must be wondering why you're still having reoccurring skin problems, or you must have concluded its in your DNA, or as a result of Maturity, Gene 😂

Nah! Skin is not a Matter of DNA, your daily habits, have a big impact on what you see in the mirror. So you want to start a proper skincare routine, but have some questions: which ones are right for your skin? In what order should you be applying these products? and what do the products even do?

 SKINCARE TIPS BEFORE YOU START

The goal of any skincare routine is to tone up your complexion so it's Functioning at its best. "Beauty routines are an opportunity to notice Changes within Yourself", says the San Fransico Skincare Specialist Kristina Holey. As your skin needs shift with age, so will your products. S

To get the most benefit out of a daily skincare regimen, no matter your skin type, allow these three simple steps to become your daily ritual that fortifies your skin;

  • Cleansing
  • Toning
  • Moisturizing
CLEANSING
Washing your face is the most basic and essential step in any routine, Our skin comes in contact with environmental pollutants, dirt, and other factors; and should be gently removed. Wash twice a day, Morning and Night, to avoid clogged pores, dullness, and acne.

Find your Facial Cleaner
The right formula cleanses your skin without stripping essential, healthy oils. For everyday cleansing, here's what to look for:

TONING
In the '80s, Toner was originally an alcohol-based product that was used to dry up oily skin and remove any leftover dirt after cleansing. But Today's formulas, however, have changed, the Liquids deliver an extra shot of nutrients, helping the other products in your regimen absorb better, While still balancing your complexion. It can be a good way to add specific ingredients that you may not have in your other products.

Toners should be used after cleansing and before putting on anything else. Applying Toners with clean hands is the most efficient. Just pour a few drops in your palm, then swipe on it.n Most Formulas can be used morning and night, but use those with exfoliating acids only at night.

MOISTURIZING
The most basic function of a moisturizer is to hydrate and soften the skin. "Moisturizers assists in preventing water loss through the outer layers of the skin, they also complement the naturally found protective oils and other building blocks within the skin, such as ceramides" DR Charles  Explains.

Skin Naturally Loses the ability to retain moisture as we age, and daily activities, such as washing, can strip natural Hydrators from the surface.

How to Pick a Moisturizer
Everyone needs moisture, but the texture of your moisturizer will differ depending on your skin type.

Difference between Day and Night Cream
Creams you apply in the Morning are equipped to protect your skin from the environmental aggressors you'll face when you leave your house.
Night creams, on the other hand, focus on repairing any damage you might have picked up while carrying out your daily activities.

Eye Cream
Can you survive without an eye cream? Absolutely!
But if you have specific concerns, like Hyperpigmentation, dryness, or puffiness; you might want to try one. The skin around the eyes is quite thin and delicate, and more likely to react to irritating ingredients than other areas of your body.

However, The Science behind skincare products has come a long way but there is still no such thing as an instant fix - you need time to reap the benefits. Results are only seen through Consistent use, apply in order of consistency and you'll reach your desired goal 😉.
